Physical Education Email Phone: 628-2380 YouTube: c/EpicAdventureGuy1 I began my pursuit of teaching Physical Education (PE) and Health at UW-Whitewater. My wife and I moved to the desert for her graduate school and in 2015 I have the opportunity to finish my degree at New Mexico State University where I learned about how to implement student-centered lessons within the curriculum.
I've been teaching in the district since 2015. I first started out teaching PE at Plat Elementary School for 3 years and PE and Health at Richfield for 4 years. In 2018, I began teaching at Friess Lake Elementary School and I'm blessed to be in this role. I'm truly invested to this school and community. In addition, I also taught PE and Health at Hartford Union High School for 4 years (2015 – 2018) and coached wrestling and track. I also had the opportunity to teach PE one year at a K-8 Charter School in Flagstaff, Arizona.
My wife and I got married in 2011 and we love to go on hiking adventures all over the U.S. It is on both our bucket lists to get to all of America's National Parks. We currently live in a home in Hartford built over 100 years ago and have four young children all starting with the letter J: Josie, Jonah, Jameson, and Jayda. We also have a dog, cat, leopard gecko, and about 30 fish in a 300 gallon saltwater reef tank.
I enjoy playing sports and being active outdoors. At Pewaukee High School, I played varsity football, wrestling, and track. I went on to UW-Whitewater to compete in Track and Field at a collegiate level as a decathlete specializing in pole vault. I have a passion for outdoor recreation and enjoy going kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and play disc golf. I have a YouTube Channel called "Epic Adventure Guy" where I post adventures, fitness, and Physical Education lessons. Check it out if you're interested in doing workouts at home and finding new recreational opportunities that are fun and active for the whole family.
I’m very blessed to teach Physical Education at Friess Lake Elementary School. My goal is to guide students in the process of being physically active for a lifetime. I love my job of promoting health and wellness to students, parents, and teachers. I'm on a Wellness Team that organizes community wide wellness activities once per month to promote physical activity and health to everyone. Events in the past are: GaGa ball tournament, Jack-O'-Lantern jog, turkey fitness, indoor snowball fight, winter hike, Jazzercise, Kids Heart Challenge, school dances, color run, field day, and many more. GO DOLPHINS!
